Time flies when you’re the highest rated TV series of 2021! Last year, Marvel made its impressive debut on Disney+ starting with Wanda Vision. Believe it or not, January 15 marks one year since the first two episodes were released on the streaming site. Many people honored the series’ anniversary, including Funko, who just announced a new Scarlet Witch Pop figure. Kat Dennings, who reprized her role as Darcy Lewis from Thor and Thor: The Dark World in Wanda Vision, took to social media today to celebrate the one-year anniversary and share a fun behind-the-scenes photo.
“It’s @wandavision’s one year anniversary so here I am breaking my spanx on my first day in circus attire,” Dennings wrote. “The struuuuugle is REAL!!! You FLY doh, frand!! 😍😍😍 Happy birthday to us!!” Teyonah Parris (Monica Rambeau) replied. You can check the photo below:
“I was very surprised and excited,” Dennings said of her return to Marvel eight years later in an exclusive interview with PopCulture.com. “At first I just knew they wanted to bring Darcy back. When I heard it was for Wanda Vision, I was very intrigued. It’s such a unique project – I think audiences have really enjoyed the uniqueness of the show.”
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Dennings will be part of Thor: Love and Thunder. While there’s been no official word on whether or not we’ll see Darcy again, Marvel producer Mary Livanos teased last year that the character could appear anywhere.
“I do not think so [Dennings’ absence] had to do with anything COVID-related,” Livanos explained when asked about Darcy’s lack in the Wanda Vision final. “We love Darcy as an elusive and wacky character, and I find it especially enjoyable that Darcy can appear anywhere in the universe.”
As for Wanda Vision, the show recently received 23 total Emmy nominations last year, including Best Limited Series. Some actors have also been nominated, including Elizabeth Olsen for “Best Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie”, Paul Bettany for “Best Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie” and Kathryn Hahn for “Best Supporting Actress in a limited series or a movie”. Series or Movie.” The show ended up winning three Creative Arts Emmys for “Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Program (Half Hour)”, “Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes”, and “Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics” for “Agatha All Along”.
