The inmate who escaped was arrested.
***Update as of Friday (January 14) at 10 a.m.: Surrey RCMP are advising the public that the inmate who allegedly escaped lawful custody has been located and arrested.*
An inmate with a history of violent offenses escaped from a pre-trial service center in Metro Vancouver and is considered to be unlawfully at large.
Surrey RCMP are asking the public for help in locating Mustafa Sa’Ada, 32, who has a history of violent offenses and was being held for robbery at the Surrey Pre-Trial Service Centre.
On Thursday, January 13 at 12:46 p.m., police were notified that the inmate had fled from the custody of correctional officers at the center, located at 14323 57th Ave.
Surrey RCMP and Integrated Dog Services are actively searching for Sa’Ada, who is believed to be unlawfully at large.
Sa’Ada is described as a 32-year-old, 5’8, Middle Eastern male of slim build, wearing a gray sweater, dark brown/grey pants and white shoes (see image below) -attached clothes).
If you see him, do not approach him, call 911 immediately.
