Polo G Shares “Heating Up” Video With YungLiV

About six months after sharing her third album Hall of fame, Polo G returns with 14 new songs on the expanded edition Hall of Fame 2.0. One of the highlights on 2.0 was “Heating Up,” a street anthem featuring YungLiV, the Philadelphia rapper signed to Polo’s Capalot Records. On Friday, we received a music video that matches the explosive and bloodthirsty energy of the song.

Counterpoint 2.0’s visuals are reminiscent of early Chicago exercise clips with a new polish and glimpses of the cut-and-paste aesthetic that’s become popular in rap videos these days. Polo and YungLiv deliver their bars surrounded by their team to the street, the hair salon and the snack aisle of a convenience store, looking untouchable wherever they go. If the goal of “Heating Up” is to put fear at the heart of the competition, the song and its video succeed on several levels. Look above.
