Pedestrian killed after being struck by vehicle near Moodie Drive and Old Richmond Road

The Ottawa Police Collision Investigation Unit is still at the scene where a pedestrian died early Friday after being struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Moodie Drive and Old Richmond Road.

Paramedics said the victim was a woman in her 60s who was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

Police were called to the Bells Corners intersection at around 4:30 a.m., the Ottawa Police Service said.

Police have asked drivers and pedestrians to avoid the area where road closures are in effect on Moodie Drive between Tyrrell Place and Old Richmond Road.

OC Transpo routes are affected.

All witnesses are urged to call the Ottawa Police.
