OTTAWA — One man has died and five people are missing after an explosion Thursday at an Ottawa fuel truck manufacturer.
Ottawa police say three men were taken to hospital after an explosion and fire at Eastway Tank in the south end of the city.
Police say one of the men has died from his injuries, one remains in stable condition and the third has now been sent home.
Four men and a woman who were at the business when the explosion are still missing and police said they did not expect any survivors to be found.
Police say they are not releasing the names of the individuals, but their families have been notified.
Eastway Tank’s website states that it has been in operation since 1968 as a custom manufacturer of tank trucks that transport liquids, including water and fuels.
