A FLAT is up for rent in north London for a whopping £910 a month – but the ‘bedroom’ looks like something out of Harry Potter.
The downstairs studio is furnished with hardwood floors, but a potential tenant was horrified to spot his tiny bedroom.
It’s basically a couch squeezed into a closet with little room for anything else.
The six photos of the studio featured on Zoopla show a bright living room furnished with a sofa and dining table, as well as an updated kitchen and bathroom.
But tenants will have to sleep on a squashed bed inside what appears to have been storage space, with no room for a side table or a place to hang clothes.
There appears to be a small shelf for storage inside the small space – and a light.
The bizarre set-up recalls the cupboard under the stairs where wizard Harry Potter is forced to sleep by his cruel aunt and uncle, Vernon and Petunia Dursley.
But unlike the fictional world of JK Rowling, the Closet Room is real.
One woman called it “a ridiculously small apartment I found on Zoopla”.
She said, “Sounds good but apparently you’re sleeping in the closet?”
The studio, hooked up by estate agents Jayson Russell, is located at Sunningfields Road in Hendon.
The listing reads: “A spacious ground floor studio apartment with hardwood floors, separate kitchen and bathroom storage, gas central heating, located on Sunny Gardens road – within walking distance of local shops and public transport.”
It adds that renters with cars “will be able to apply to Barnet for a parking permit fee based on vehicle emissions”.
Elsewhere, a small London flat has hit the market for a bargain price of £390 a month – but it’s so small the bed blocks the whole kitchen.
The Victorian property is located in Kensington, West London, one of the most exclusive areas in the country, but the fully furnished apartment barely has enough room to walk around.
The listing brags about how the Victorian pad is in a great location, boasting that it’s “fully furnished” and has trendy “wooden floors.”
But the one-person studio is so thin that the bed almost touches the kitchen sink and prevents the refrigerator from fully opening.
Because it is so small that there is not even enough space for a bathroom with a shower and a toilet shared with the other residents of the block.
The skinny cushion shows off the bed against a wall, with the slim kitchenette just inches away.
The camp-style sink, microwave and hob are all within easy reach of the single bed.
A Twitter user who came across the property said: “Randomly browsing apartments on Zoopla for no reason and I came across this.
“Housing in London is such a joke.
“I’ve seen prison cells bigger than this [for real].”
