A man was filmed forcibly robbing an 85-year-old woman in New York City – pulling her by her cane and dragging her to the ground in a filmed attack, according to police and surveillance footage.

The woman was in an elevator of a residential building on 149th Street East and Morris Avenue in the Bronx at around 3:10 p.m. local time on Sunday when the stranger entered, police said. Surveillance video provided by police shows the man momentarily exiting the elevator before entering and pulling the woman by his cane.

He tries to run away with the woman’s bag and cane, but she does her best to hold on, video shows. The bully continues to shoot the woman’s things, eventually dragging her to the ground and running for the door.

Police said the octogenarian was taken to an area hospital with hip pain. Authorities did not provide a description of the suspect, but he appeared to be wearing a bright blue coat, dark-colored hat, dark pants and sneakers.
