My Hero Academia Channels Batman With This Gorgeous Aizawa Art

My hero university has been quiet for the past week or so as his team took a well-deserved break over the holidays. Now the anime team is back to work on season six while the manga editors get back to editing for Shounen jump. In the meantime, the fandom has been keeping our favorite heroes alive with all sorts of holiday goodies, and one fan just honored Aizawa with the perfect Batman tribute.

The piece comes from Twitter courtesy of agildedcrow. This is where the artist made a special design for Christopher Wahkamp, the English voice actor behind Aizawa. As you can see below, their artwork is inspired by the DC Comics icon, and agildedcrow wrote the piece to celebrate Wehkamp’s love of Batman.

As you can see, Aizawa is seen perched on top of a building as he watches from the roof. Dressed in his usual garb, the hero visibly scans the streets for danger, and the nighttime scene in the background only adds to the mood. In the back, you can even see buildings lit up against the sky, and Aizawa looks ready to spring into action whenever called upon.

Of course, Batman fans will know this pose because the caped crusader made it so famous. Gotham’s savior often takes to the rooftops to survey his city, and he leaps into action when called upon. The same goes for Aizawa, and street heroes tend to keep their battles in the shadows. Although they can sometimes join the front lines, Batman and Aizawa love their underground roots, so this digital painting is pretty much perfect.

Of course, there are some things Batman has that Aizawa can’t claim. We’re pretty sure the Class 1-A teacher doesn’t have a Batmobile parked somewhere, and Catwoman isn’t leading him on wild chases. My hero university also doesn’t delve into all of the hidden identities, but Aizawa and Batman have it where it counts. They are not afraid to fight for their city and they will do anything to protect those they love.

What do you think of this DC Comics comparison? Are there any more of these mirrors hiding in My hero university? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below or hit me up on Twitter @Megan PetersCB.
