Frontier Health management has approved a plan to increase wages and salaries for employees of the behavioral and mental health care provider.

According to a press release from the company, Frontier Health’s board of directors agreed in December to increase salaries in the healthcare system. Officials said the decision was made due to the “difficult and changing landscape in the region regarding both hiring and retaining team members.”

The new compensation plan went into effect on January 3 and raises Frontier Health’s minimum wage to $ 13.50 an hour. The move will also result in significant increases in pay rates for additional positions within the organization.

Starting rates for master’s level therapists, licensed practical nurses and case managers are increasing by over $ 4 per hour. This will bring the starting rate for licensed therapists to $ 23.75 per hour, eligible master therapists to $ 21.75 per hour, and LPNs to $ 19.85 per hour.

Case managers will be paid $ 18.27 per hour and direct support specialists will be paid starting at $ 14.50 per hour. Plus, all full-time positions include what the company calls “a great” benefits package.
