The holiday season may have just ended, but pop superstar Mariah Carey is still in the Christmas spirit. On Wednesday, January 12, Carey announced that she was releasing her first-ever children’s book – a fairy tale about Christmas. The book is titled “The Christmas Princess” and features the “Always Be My Baby” singer as a baby girl.
“‘The Christmas Princess’ is a fairy tale for holiday lovers of all ages,” Carey wrote on social media. “’Little Mariah’ represents my inner child who believes in her own vision. She represents all children, especially those who feel like strangers or ‘others’, striving to believe in themselves. “
Carey added that writing the book allowed her to “transform [her] the bustle of childhood in a modern classic fairy tale full of boundless wonder and hope.
“The Christmas Princess” is co-written by Michaela Angela Davis, who collaborated with Carey on her 2020 memoir, “The Meaning of Mariah Carey.” It is illustrated by Fuuji Takashi. The character of “Little Mariah” was first introduced to the public in 2017 for her animated film “All I Want for Christmas Is You”.
“Many of us have been drowning in ‘bleakocity’ for the past year and a half, why not create an enchanted land to escape to?” Carey said People. “‘The Christmas Princess’ was born out of the same need as my memoir – to emancipate the little girl in me.”
If anyone has the power to say that Christmas isn’t over yet, it’s Carey.
Plus, we now have the perfect stocking stuffers for the young readers in our families.
“The Christmas Princess” is slated for release in fall 2022.
