Ex-Liverpool defender Jose Enrique has urged his former club to move for free agent and Manchester United target Christian Eriksen.
The 30-year-old is available this summer as his contract with Brentford expires and a number of Premier League sides are lining up for his signature. The likes of United have been linked in recent weeks, while both Tottenham and Everton are also rumored to hold an interest.
Liverpool have already made additions to their squad ahead of the new season with Fabio Carvalho and Darwin Nunez set to join on July 1. They’re also understood to be closing in on a deal for Aberdeen right back Calvin Ramsay.

Enrqiue, who made over 90 appearances for Liverpool during his playing days, believes Eriksen could be a short-term solution for Jurgen Klopp’s midfield.
He said on his Instagram story (via the Metro): “Another interesting player that could be our solution to our midfield and spending nothing because he [Eriksen] is a free agent. He is a short-term solution but then we can wait for [Jude] Bellingham next season.
“He will play if he deserves to play like everyone else. Eriksen is a top player and I believe he can compete for a starting spot in our XI. The season is very long.
“He is that kind of player, like Thiago, but maybe a little bit more offensive. But Thiago is our magician.”
The ECHO understands Ramsay’s arrival will conclude incoming business this summer with a midfielder the priority for 2023. Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham is said to be interested, but any potential move would have to wait until next year given the Bundesliga club have already sold one of their big stars in Erling Haaland.
