Key Birmingham City figure provides positive update on Manchester United loanee

Lee Bowyer has revealed that Birmingham City expect Tahith Chong, on loan from Manchester United, to return to the club next month.

The attacking midfielder joined the Blues in the summer and has been a real bonus for the team in the early part of the campaign, impressing with his quality on the ball and his unpredictability going forward.

However, Chong suffered a groin injury in October which forced him to return to the Red Devils for treatment.

It was unclear when the 22-year-old would return, but Bowyer told club media today that the Dutch U21 international could be back in the fold next month.

Chong is going in the right direction, we hope to get him back in February. We missed him, he brings us so much in the final third and creates so many problems. I can’t wait for him to come back. ”

The Blues have struggled without the United man, with Bowyer’s men having won just one of their last nine in all competitions and they sit 18th in the Championship.

Are these 22 Birmingham City stats true or false?

The club has been promoted to the Premier League more than 4 times.

The verdict

It’s a huge boost for the Blues as anyone who has seen them play this season will recognize how much they have missed Chong.

He was one of the few in the team who was able to provide quality moments in attack, as he can beat players and has an eye for a pass.

So he will make a huge difference to the team and you can be sure Bowyer will be happy to have him back, even though there is still plenty of football to be played next month.
