Jonathan Van-Tam resigns – raising eyebrows in Whitehall | News

Sir Jonathan Van-Tam, England’s deputy chief medical officer, resigned abruptly last night in a move that raised eyebrows in Whitehall.

Van-Tam, who has become one of the most recognizable faces of the government’s response to the pandemic, told senior health officials his resignation yesterday amid chaos in Whitehall.
