Jin loves his character BT21, an alpaca named RJ, and the singer takes RJ stuffed animals with him when he travels. In his interview with GQ Magazine, Jin revealed that he kept Martin’s guitar next to an “RJ figure”.
Jin told the magazine:
“I keep my most prized possessions in the main entrance of my house. When you open the door there is a huge ‘RJ’ number [created in collaboration with LINE company] it is about 2 meters high. Next to it is the guitar. [laughs] In fact, I asked Chris where I should keep it. He said next to RJ would be best, so I didn’t have to wonder where to put him.

Why Chris Martin gave his guitar to Jin
Coldplay released “My Universe” with BTS on September 24, 2021. After the single’s release, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook met Coldplay while visiting the United States.
Speaking to GQ Magazine, Jin went into detail about what it was like for Martin to give her a guitar.
“I was so happy,” Jin told the magazine. “After our collaboration, we had the chance to see him again in the United States. When we were both in the studio, I said to him, ‘Hey, your guitar is cool.’ I mean, I’m such a fan. Honestly, everything about him is cool. But he suddenly handed over the guitar saying it was a gift.
The BTS singer continued, “I didn’t imply anything with my comment. Even in my dazed state, I was so turned on that I didn’t know how to react.

To this day, Jin still doesn’t know why Martin chose to give him the guitar.
“I asked him several times if he was serious, because I couldn’t believe it. I was so grateful. I heard later that he knew I was a fan. Maybe “Was that why he gave it to me? This is all speculation, of course,” Jin told GQ Magazine.
Jin is a big Chris Martin and Coldplay fan.
For Jin, working on “My Universe” with Colplay was a dream collaboration because he is such a “big fan of” Martin.
“I’m a huge Chris Martin fan. Thinking about it even now, it was really amazing to be able to collaborate with Coldplay. It was such a precious moment for me. I really like ‘Viva la Vida’ and ‘Fix You’, and we were able to cover ‘Fix You’ recently! It made me especially happy,” Jin shared.
He continued, “They encouraged us to share our opinions throughout the writing process. Even when Chris came to Korea to record the track, even when he was producing it, he constantly asked us if there was anything we wanted to try.
