Harbor Grace RCMP are warning the public of drug trafficking in the area after three overdoses in the past week

Harbor Grace RCMP are warning the public of a dangerous supply of narcotics circulating in the area.

They say officers responded to three reports of drug overdoses last week, administering Narcan in two of those cases. One person died of a suspected overdose. The official cause of death is still under investigation by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Police said a reddish-brown substance, sold as morphine or heroin, was present in two of the incidents in question.

The public is reminded to call 8-1-1 to find the nearest location for a free naloxone kit.
