Formula One to stop ‘kneeling’ before races for BLM

Sky News host Rowan Dean says taking a knee for black lives has always been “fraught with danger”.

Formula One boss Stefano Domenicali has scrapped the opportunity for drivers to take a knee before races, which has occurred over the past two seasons.

Mr Domenicali said it is now a matter of “changing gesture to action” and bringing the focus to increasing diversity within the motorsport.

“People are starting to realize that showing you are bowing down to another human being is not really a great way of showing equality,” Mr Dean said of the move.
