A former volunteer at a yoga retreat in Illawarra has admitted to sending a teenage girl a series of sexually explicit messages and photos. Micah John Pilsbury, 40, will be sentenced in District Court next month after pleading guilty in Wollongong Local Court on Thursday to using a transport service to deliver indecent material to a person under the age of 16. Pilsbury, then a volunteer at Govinda Valley Retreat in Otford, was 32 at the end of December 2013 when he sent 30 messages and 37 images of adult pornography aged 15 via Facebook Messenger. A message read: “I always thought you were sexy…especially now I thought of you while playing with myself”. Many messages described, in detail, sexual acts he wanted to perform with the victim. The victim did not respond to messages and blocked Pilsbury. She reported the matter to Wollongong Police in September 2019.
