England has produced a hitting display unlike anything cricket has ever known in an astonishing innings that has smashed world records.
Cricket has never seen anything like it.
England has crushed world records in a simply absurd first innings mauling of the Netherlands on Friday night (AEST).
The First ODI in Amstelveen turned into a bloodbath for the home side as England set a new world record for the highest innings score ever seen in ODI cricket.
England finished its 50 overs 4/498 with three batters all scoring hundreds.
As the late innings pyrotechnics continued to fire there seemed a very real possibility that Eoin Morgan’s team was about to become the first team to ever reach the 500-run milestone in ODI cricket.

Instead England had to settle for a new world record — beating the previous highest score ever seen in ODI cricket — England’s score of 481 against Australia in 2018.
The list of records broken on Friday night is simply insane, including:
— It is the first time England has ever had three batsmen score centuries in one ODI innings.
— Liam Livingstone scored the second quickest fifty in ODI cricket. He reached 50 from 17 balls, finishing one short of AB de Villiers record of 16 balls set in 2015.
— Livingstone also set a new record for the highest number of runs ever scored in an over by an English cricketer with 32 runs off an over.
— Jos Buttler, who finished on 162 not out, plundered his ton off just 47 balls — missing his own record for the fastest England century by just one ball.
— England scored 198 runs from its final 12 overs.
England needed 40 runs from the final three overs to reach 500. It came down to the final over where they needed to strike 12 runs from the final two balls. Livingstone could only manage to hit one four and a six.
Buttler top scored with his 162 not out from 70 balls, but he had plenty of help from Dawid Malan (125 off 109) and Phil Salt (122 off 93).
Sadly, the Netherlands actually won the toss and sent the tourists in to bat.
