Denver shootings: 4 killed and more, including an officer, shot dead in several locations in the Denver area

The suspect is also dead, they said. The motive is not clear.

“There are four major gunfire locations in the city and county of Denver,” Denver Police Chief Paul Pazen said at a press conference on Monday.

The shooting began just after 5 p.m. when two women were killed and a man injured, Pazen said.

A man was then killed at a second location. And at a third site, a shot was fired, without any injuries being reported.

Denver Police pursued a vehicle, exchanging gunshots with the suspect, Pazen said.

“We believe the individual, after disabling the police car, fled to Lakewood,” said Pazen, about eight miles west of downtown Denver.

Police received a shooting call at a business just before 6 p.m., Lakewood Police spokesman John Romero said at a press conference.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.

Lakewood Police found the suspect’s car and, as it approached, the driver started shooting and the police responded, Romero said.

The suspect then proceeded to a nearby shopping area and threatened another business before taking cover at a Hyatt Place hotel, Romero said.

Police are investigating after two women were killed and a man was injured in a shooting in Denver on Monday.

There, the suspect allegedly shot an employee, he said. “This person was taken to the hospital; we don’t know the extent of the injuries there or how exactly this person is doing.”

The suspect then restarted and, confronted by a Lakewood police officer, shot and punched the officer, who was undergoing surgery.

Further shots were exchanged between police and the suspect, who was killed, police said.

There is no threat to the community, authorities said.
