LOS ANGELES, CA — A Delta Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Maui was forced to turn around Saturday morning and make an emergency landing at Los Angeles International Airport due to a mechanical problem.
The plane landed safely but had to be towed off the runway at LAX. Authorities did not immediately say what the mechanical problem was.
Flight 362 was scheduled to leave LAX at 8:05 a.m. and land in Maui at 11:57 a.m., according to the airline’s website.
“They’re towing it (Boeing 757) off the runway,” said Charles Pannunzio, senior public information officer at Global Airports Los Angeles.
No injuries were reported.
