Academy youngster Finley Burns has signed a new long-term contract with Manchester City.
The 18-year-old centre-back, who made his senior debut for City earlier this season, has signed a deal which will take him until June 2027.
Burns, who has been at the club for over five years, was a key part of City’s elite development squad that won the Premier League 2 title last season.
He has once again been in impressive form for our Under-23s this season and has made 13 appearances so far for Brian Barry-Murphy’s side in PL2 as well as five appearances in our UEFA Youth campaign. League.
Tall, imposing and comfortable in possession, Burns’ progress was further recognized when he made his first-team debut in September, playing the full 90 minutes in City’s 6-1 third-round victory over the Carabao Cup v Wycombe Wanderers.
Finley was also a member of the City team that won the FA Youth Cup in 2020 and was also part of our Under-18 Premier League North title-winning squad in the same year.
