Appeal after Birmingham home raided in daylight smash-and-grab

Police have issued a picture of a man who may have information about a smash-and-grab daylight break-in at a Birmingham home. Three people were thought to have broken in through a window at the back of a home in Edgware Road, Erdington, at around 11am on Wednesday, May 11.

The raiders took cash, jewelry and also clothes and a laptop from the Stockland Green address. Now police have issued a CCTV image of a man.

He has a dark hooded, zipped jacket on and appears to be wearing a cap as he stands at the rear of an open van. He is also sporting white gloves and dark trousers.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police, issuing the CCTV appeal, said: “We want to speak to this man in connection with a burglary in Erdington. He is suspected of being involved with two others in breaking into an address in Edgware Road at around 11am on 18 May.

“A range of items including cash, jewellery, clothes and a laptop was taken. Anyone with information can contact us via Live Chat on our website and quote 20/473295/22.”
