ACT police arrested a man on Sunday evening in connection with an alleged burglary in Conder earlier in the evening. At around 10:40 p.m., officers from Tuggeranong Station on patrol allegedly observed the man driving an electric scooter in Conder with bags over his shoulder. Police allege the man pulled away from the police at high speed before falling from the scooter. He continued to flee on foot and threw the bags away, police said. The police caught up with the man shortly after. Police allege that when the bags were recovered, searches revealed dozens of items suspected of being stolen property. Officers also found a knife, police said. The man was arrested and taken to ACT Watch House. Police allege that further investigations revealed that a neighboring residence was broken into and several items were stolen.
