A ritzy six-bedroom home with a nine-car collectors’ garage, steam room, pool and wine bar has set a new benchmark for Aberfeldie, smashing the previous record by millions.
A ritzy Aberfeldie home with a huge nine-car collectors’ garage has smashed the suburb’s house price record for more than $3 million.
140 The Boulevard, known to locals as the “motorbike house” for the aqua 2017 Royal Enfield 350 Classic showpiece in its front window, was snapped up three weeks ahead of the closing date for its expressions of interest campaign.
While the sale price is undisclosed, the Herald Sununderstands it sold above $7.8m — at the top end of its $7.4m-$7.9m price guide — steam-rolling the previous Aberfeldie house price record which was set in December last year with the $4.73m exit 47A Clifton St.

McDonald Upton Essendon agent Joe Zucco said the lucky buyer was a local “car enthusiast” who “had been looking for a prestigious home for a while.”
“I have loved the precinct and the quality and feel of the home,” Mr Zucco said.
The lavish six-bedroom residence was designed by Bagnato Architects and comes with a lift, indoor gym, steam room and of course the 30sq m basement garage — which in the listing photos was filled with a number high-end vehicles and motorbikes.
The vendor, who asked to remain anonymous, previously told the Herald Sun that the basement was an “automobile collectors’ dream garage.”
He added that the space included “an entertaining area with a built-in surround sound system, 75-inch TV (and) ceiling-mounted electric heaters.”
The house was sold to the new owner with some car memorabilia included, such as lit-up luxury sports car signs for brands like Ferrari installed in the garage poles.
Inside the double-storey home, a 114-bottle wine bar is displayed in the living and dining area, which also features dual Vintec wine fridges.
The alfresco dining area is built with a barbecue kitchen near the private north-facing backyard, where a Bisazza-tiled pool also lies.
Mr Zucco said both the vendor and buyer were thrilled with the sale.
