Welcome to the Season of the Chap. Those weird arctic winds haven’t done our skin a favor for the past few months, but luckily there’s a whole world of Vancouver-based skincare brands out there to counter the redness, itchiness, and dryness. Pair one of these locally made creams, masks or serums with your most comfortable waterproof jacket and you’ll be ready to tackle whatever winter throws at you from here.
The plant-based, cocoa-vanilla lip balm has been a staple in our beauty kits ever since it snuck into our lives via the Made in Vancouver Awards last summer. Simple, clean, effective. ($20)
Oil up and relax with Hermit’s blend of fast-absorbing lavender and eucalyptus oils, made in small batches and super loaded with vitamin E for head-to-toe hydration. ($28) The brand’s salt baths also make a perfect end-of-a-cold day soak.
