The Ottawa Police Service says an explosion and fire at a business in the city sent three people to hospital.
The service said in a statement that police, firefighters and paramedics responded Thursday afternoon and firefighters said they received numerous emergency calls reporting large flames and thick black smoke.

Ottawa Fire Services said two people are in critical condition and one is slightly injured.
Officials say a family reunification center has been set up at the Woodvale Pentecostal Church to ensure everyone who worked at the company is accounted for.

Police said emergency crews continued to search the site and monitor the scene for flare-ups.
The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal is investigating.
