3 DC Zone Companies Are Among the Best Remote Workplaces in the United States

Two years after the start of the pandemic, we have long passed stay-at-home orders and blockages that have forced employees to embrace working from home. Yet remote and flexible working setups remain dominant in the DC region and elsewhere.

This week, career service site Flexible jobs took out his Top 100 companies to watch for remote jobs in 2022 listing. Based on job posting data from 57,000 companies across the United States, FlexJobs determined the 100 companies with the most remote job listings on its board in 2021. And three companies from the DC area were successful, which means the DMV is still very much a remote friendly area.

The increase in remote working is a trend that appears to be here to stay, based on the FlexJobs data. According to another recent company survey, only 3% of workers would prefer to return to the office full-time once it is safe.

“The important role remote working plays in today’s modern workplace cannot be underestimated, and smart companies, like the ones on this list, will formally integrate remote working into their business model. in the long term, ”said Sara sutton, founder and CEO of FlexJobs, in a statement. “Our intention in creating this list in 2014 remains the same in 2022, which is to help job seekers connect with companies that not only offer distance career opportunities, but also pave the way for a career. more flexible future of work. “

In 2021, FlexJobs saw a 12% increase over 2020 in the number of remote job postings, and there was also more variety among job titles and levels. While technology, IT, healthcare, and customer service were still strong, they did not dominate the remote working world as much as they once did. On the other hand, FlexJobs reported that the areas of accounting and finance, marketing as well as human resources have grown significantly.

Here are the DC area companies that made the cut:

  • Stride (# 42): The Herndon, Va., Online learning company offers classes for K-12 students, school districts, colleges, and career planning. He has been on the FlexJobs list every year since 2014.

It expects IT and IT. ; Accounting and finance; marketing; medical and health; project management; customer service and human resources and recruiting to be the leading remote work industries for years to come.
