1 dead, 2 injured in Etobicoke shooting

One person died and two others were injured after a shooting in Etobicoke on Monday night, Toronto police said.

The shooting took place in the area of ​​Lake Shore Boulevard West and Thirtieth Street, west of Kipling Avenue. Police received a call regarding the shooting at 8:45 p.m.

Police said officers located three victims, all with gunshot wounds. Two were men and one was a woman, police said. Their ages have not been disclosed.

Toronto paramedics took the three to hospital, where one died. The other two victims were listed in serious condition at the hospital on Monday evening, according to Const. Alex Li of the Toronto Police Service.

Li said the police had not determined what happened before the shooting. He could not say whether the shooting took place inside a building or outside.

Shell casings were found in the area.

Homicide detectives have resumed the investigation, police said. A detectives update is expected on Tuesday.

Roads nearby were closed as officers investigated. No description of one or more suspects has been published.
